Asia cup 2023 will hosted by Pakistan | breaking news

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has decided to award Pakistan the Asia Cup in 2023. The event, which will be played in ODI format, will come after a T20 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka coming time. The opinions were made at an ACC meeting on Thursday in Dubai (October 15).

The ACC meeting, presided over by Jay Shah, the clerk of the BCCI, conceded that it's now the turn of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to host the event, and the Pakistan board, as it has done in the history, has declared that it'll not host the event at a neutral venue, but only in Pakistan.

It's understood that the decision was reached unanimously. The opinions have been verified by both the BCCI and the PCB. The exact schedule of the events will be blazoned soon, but the 50-over Asia Cup will be held in a 50-over World Cup time that has been assigned to India. Ramiz Raja, the PCB's new president, was present. Because the ICC World Cup is listed for October-November 2023, the Asia Cup will naturally take place in the middle of that time, with the IPL listed for the first half of the time.
Also, coming time's T20 Asia Cup will be held in confluence with the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia in October-November. The ACC hopes to host the T20 Asia Cup before the global event, which will most probably take place in September.
The PCB was supposed to host the Asia Cup in 2020, but after the BCCI refused to travel to Pakistan, the PCB shifted hosting rights with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). Still, due to the epidemic situation, SLC was unfit to host the event in both 2020 and 2021.
The ACC decision should be ate by the beleaguered PCB, which has lately suffered lapses due to the pullout of New Zealand and England from bilateral series in the country, citing security and other enterprises.
With the ACC meeting taking place against the background of the New Zealand and England pull-outs, as well as some allegations from the Pakistan side regarding Indian involvement in those opinions, there was a lot of significance to the meeting, especially since the BCCI and PCB were participating one platform for the first time, with new president Ramiz Raja representing the ultimate. The meeting, still, was said to be cordial.
In fact, Jay Shah invited Raja to the IPL tests. The PCB president, who used to be a regular IPL judge, stated that he'd be unfit to attend because he was returning home on Friday (October 15).
